The following is a summary of the most frequent inquiries people have about the AntiWikipedia project. If you wish to ask questions, do it in the discussion page for this article. Thank you.
What is AntiWikipedia?
The AntiWikipedia ( or AW ) wishes to contain all knowledge not available in the Wikipedia.
The prefix ANTI applies to the fact that we are the opposite of Wikipedia, which means we ACCEPT behavior that is not allowed there such as:
Original research, original thought, non-neutral point of view, non-notable status and unverifiable speculation among others.
However, to keep an organized database we still have to use some of Wikipedia's mechanisms such as policies against vandalism, meaningless content, nonsensical pages and many others.
Why be the opposite?
Easy. To contain the knowledge that is not being included in Wikipedia, we must allow the policies that are not being allowed in their database. This means that the articles being deleted in Wikipedia every day now have a home here so people can use this information for their own needs.
Example: A local store in the small town of Bowbells, North Dakota creates an article about their business for people to have more information about the store.
- Right away the article will be slapped with plenty of Wikipedia flags, citing how "non-notable" the article is since it belongs to a "store of no importance" and so on and so on. It's directed to the Article for deletion voting page where everyone will poke holes into the deficiencies of the article as a valuable asset to their database, and then it gets removed ( Deleted ).

In the meantime, when someone from the town of Bowbells, North Dakota wishes to know a little bit more about this particular store, they won't be able to find an informative wiki page.
AntiWikipedia is the solution to this problem.
Is AntiWikipedia a parody site?
No.
Does AntiWikipedia stand for the destruction of Wikipedia?
No.
As it is, we admire Wikipedia enough to create a site to complement their database.
Who runs this site?
At the present time there are 4 administrators, from which 2 of them have public profiles and system op privileges.
There are 2 dedicated editors which organize the incoming articles and determine their quality value for inclusion,
AntiWikipedia's main administrator is Angelika.
Is anybody making any profit from this site at all?
No.
But I see that top banner with Google ads and other things there, who's getting that money?
Our service provider ( ScribbleWiki ) puts those there to pay for the service since AntiWikipedia is completely non-profit.
We are not the only site covered by this umbrella. ScribbleWiki is a Wiki farm with other Wikis that get plenty of traffic.
Are you associated to Wikipedia at all?
No.
What's with the slogan "The missing pieces" ?
We represent the missing pieces of the Wikipedia puzzle.
Do I need to become a "Member" to write an article?
No.
Anyone and everyone can write an article.
However, just like in Wikipedia, your IP address will be recorded if you don't create an account.
Also, if you wish to post external links, you will also need to become a member. ( Anti spam mechanism )
What kind of articles can one write into AW?
We want ARTICLES WHICH DO NOT HAVE A PAGE IN WIKIPEDIA whatsoever. If you come here and write an article about Britney Spears life, it will be deleted since Wikipedia has it very well covered. But if you come here and write and article about your Dad's life, we will allow it.
Are there any policies or rules to AW?
Yes.
- No Pornography ( no linking to it either )
UNDER-AGED PORNOGRAPHY IS A CRIME AND IT WILL BE REPORTED TO FEDERAL AGENCIES IF A USER IS FOUND TO BE PUBLISHING IT OR LINKING TO IT. - No illegal activities. What kind of behavior can be considered illegal? Most likely the kind that would put you in jail. As easy as that. The procedure we take in case of such cases is simple. We take the material and report it to our server. They will notify the international authorities which will handle the incident.
- No Pornography ( no linking to it either )
There are more, look at them in the Guidelines page.
Who monitors the content quality?
We got administrators who review every entry made into AW. If they feel it's not worth to have an article posted, it will get deleted. There is no vote.
I created articles that have been removed. Why? and, Where are they?
Our administrators felt it was either nonsense, useless, or extremelly incomplete. If you come here and make a 2 sentence article, kiss it goodbye right away.
These articles however cannot be completely deleted. They are all stored for future reference, only accessible to administrators.
How can I request an article to be deleted from AntiWikipedia?
Put the deletion flag on top of the article, which is done by typing {{Delete}} and this will show up:
Administrators will review it. Delete it perhaps.
How are you different than Wikipedia regarding vandalism?
Well, we are a million times more strict that's for sure. Please read the Behavior page so you know how to act here and remember there are no second chances, one strike you are out.
What is your policy on Hoaxes?
We delete it. We don't have time to check if something is a hoax or not, so if we suspect something is a hoax, we delete it. Simple.
In past AW versions we allowed it. Wasn't very useful, so now we don't.
I see some typos, fractured english and bad spelling in this page and other pages
Ok. Nice. Put it in the discussion page, we might care about correcting it.
